Re-living bad events can amplify negative thoughts and that is not desirable. While not forgetting; it is useful to dwell on the positive aspects of an experience if possible. If you remember something difficult from the past and if there is a silver lining, then remember it and feel that emotion; otherwise brush that memory aside and don’t spend too much time on it. Instead focus on happy events, on successes, on love, on healing and on positive spiritual experiences. That will advance you towards happiness and peace within.
